The key highlights of Tajikistan's mining industry in 2025 will not be major discoveries, but rather the signing of numerous beneficial contracts and the announcement of projects for the coming years. We have compiled some of this information.
For example, in July 2025, the Soght Region launched construction of a mining and processing complex at the Pashindara antimony mine, located at an altitude of 3,000 meters. The project is expected to be completed in 2027. The open-pit and underground mining licenses are held by Pashindara Mining Company, with HKSkyline Development Limited as the contractor. The complex plans to process over 150,000 tons of ore annually, producing 5,000 tons of antimony. In the same month, another antimony processing plant, ARB Minerals Group, the second phase of the gold mining company TVEA Dushanbe, and the Angisht-Tahit coal washing and processing facility also commenced production.
In December, the Tajikistani Metallurgical Complex signed an agreement with the government to build an iron ore mine, with raw materials sourced from deposits in the Soght Region. The new production line in the region is scheduled to begin operation in 2027, with the second phase planned to start in 2031. The joint venture is designed to process 2.5 million tons of ore annually, producing 1.1 million tons of iron concentrate.
At the Tajikistan International Mining and Metallurgy Forum held in Dushanbe in December, it was announced that the country is building a lithium plant, but other specific details of the project have not yet been released. The same event also announced that the country has explored 800 promising deposits, but currently only slightly more than 100 mining areas, covering 50 types of mineral feedstocks, are under development.
